Where do I go to vote?
Your polling precinct (where you go vote) is a function of where you live.
When you register to vote, you will be informed of which local, state, and federal political districts encompass your residence, and you will be assigned to a specific precinct (or polling place) where you will go to vote.
Although it does not happen often, district lines are sometimes re-drawn (know as “re-districting”) and can have an impact on your assigned precinct.
The Virginia Department of Elections web site always has the most recent information and is the final authority on which precinct you are assigned to and where you should go to vote.
During the early voting period, a handful of convenient locations (i.e. DMV, library, etc.) are selected across the county so that no voter will have to travel very far to visit one.
Those locations, and the times at which they will be open, are also posted on the Prince William County Office of Elections web site.
If you plan to vote on Election Day, you will need to cast your ballot at your local precinct, which is based on your address and assigned to you when you register to vote.
